The Post‘s Marc Fisher goes deep on David Catania‘s temper today, quoting two former staffers (albeit one who is also Muriel Bowser‘s cousin) who make Catania sound like a terror of a boss. But the real money quotes come from outgoing Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham.
Here’s Graham on Catania:
He’s gotten big things done. He’s a brilliant strategist. But his mode of operation is to make people afraid of him. I’ve witnessed him attack Carol Schwartz and tell her he’d make sure she was defeated, and I’ve seen him do the same to Mary Cheh [the Ward 3 member]. He said, ‘I’m going to get you.’ Is this an emotionally balanced professional?”
Graham goes only a little more gently on Bowser, whose mayoral bid he ostensibly supports. On Catania and Bowser respectively, Graham says, “One gets things done with a few broken bones, and the other doesn’t get things done.”
