Jim Graham backed Muriel Bowser in the general election, but that didn’t stop him from offering a bruising assessment of his pick and rival David Catania in October. In the end, just as Graham hoped, voters backed the candidate who doesn’t break bones.

Graham will be officially out of office by the end of the week, meaning this could be the quotable councilmember’s last appearance in LL’s annual quote round-up. But at least he finished strong, providing another strong quote contender in March when he declared (incorrectly, as it turned out) that Ward 1 challenger Brianne Nadeau would never be a “public official” like him.
