Despite facing charges over allegedly losing it at a bank, Christopher Barry turned in petitions last week to make the Ward 8 special election ballot. But now he’s got a new problem: Barry campaign manager John Rodriguez tells LL he’s no longer with the campaign.
While declining to discuss what’s behind his exit, Rodriguez is optimistic about Barry’s chances.
“Chris, because of his name ID, still has the best chance to win,” Rodriguez says.
Managing Edward “Smitty” Smith‘s failed attorney general bid, Rodriguez earned nearly a third of the Ward 8 vote, the best ward showing any campaign put up to winner Karl Racine.
In an email, Barry says the campaign has “decided to move in a different direction.”
