The D.C. Board of Elections expects less than 20 percent turnout by the time special election polls close in Wards 4 and 8, according to a DCBOE spokeswoman.

DCBOE spokeswoman Denise Tolliver tells LL that the board expects 12.7 percent turnout in Ward 8. In Ward 4, DCBOE anticipates roughly 16 percent turnout.

“That’s pretty good for Ward 8,” Tolliver says. “That’s low for Ward 4.”
