Time to get a roommate—Muriel Bowser says the District is set to add nearly 200,000 new residents in coming years.

In an appearance this morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Bowser aimed to get the District’s population, now at around 660,000, to around 800,000 people in a few decades.

“We’re going to keep growing,” Bowser told the panel of Joe Scarborough fill-ins, after one asked her if the District is already “full.”

Where are all those new people going to go? So far, the mayor’s interest in growing the city hasn’t translated to supporting things that would increase the housing stock, like raising the height limit.

There’s not much in the rest of the interview, unless you enjoy commuters hectoring the mayor about traffic.
