Corizon contract opponent David Grosso
Pity At-Large Councilmember David Grosso. Here he was, presumably all set to enjoy his weekend last Saturday—and then Antonin Scalia died.

Soon after news of Scalia’s death broke, Grosso’s staff Twitter account sent out a tweet relishing the Supreme Court justice’s demise:

Grosso insists that he’s not behind the rude tweet. Instead, he says the tweet was inadvertently sent by one of his Council staffers.

“The tweet does not reflect my sentiments on the death of Justice Scalia, and was both insensitive and inappropriate,” Grosso said in a statement.

But that’s not enough for the D.C. GOP. In a press release, party chairman José Cunningham says the staffer behind the tweet should resign.
