I have yet to read Big Girls Don’t Cry, Salon senior writer Rebecca Traister’s treatise on feminism amidst the backdrop of the 2008 election, but the reviews have been so universally glowing that her publisher might even make back her reportedly enviable advance! She’ll be reading from it at 7 pm at Politics & Prose tonight, and a sizeable co-ed delegation of CP-ers (including me) will be in attendance. And with every pundit/lectual from Hanna Rosin to Susan Faludi to the guys behind that “Man Up” cover story in this week’s Newsweek suddenly (improbably?) hand-wringing about changing gender roles these days, it’s bound to be the upper NW singles scene of the second half of September. Man up and join us.
