A Metro bus was hijacked this morning, according to D.C. police. A pedestrian who was struck by the bus has died.

Metropolitan Police Department Chief Cathy Lanier says one adult man is in custody. The bus driver sustained non-life threatening injuries, and no passengers were injured.

The incident lasted three minutes, according to Lanier, and ended at a gas station in the 4200 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE.

NBC4 originally reported that the suspects were juveniles and were armed, but that was not corroborated by police.
