We admit it: At Washington City Paper, we have a habit of using cocktail prices as signifiers of wealth and gentrification. As reader Brian Miller (a restaurant designer for Edit Lab at Streetsense) noted on Twitter yesterday, we seem to really like references to $14 cocktails—-until this week, when that number inched up to $15 in Perry Stein‘s cover story on D.C. gym culture. No, we don’t have a style rule for this, but that’s not a bad idea. And yes, cocktail prices do seem to be rising ever higher. Either way, thanks, Brian. In appreciation of your astute aggregation, I’d like to buy you a cocktail. Maybe one from this 2 Birds 1 Stone menu?
