Anju, the monthly guest chef pop-up at the K Street NW location of Mandu, is back tonight. This time, Osteria Morini executive chef Matt Adler and pastry chef Alex Levin, as well as Las Vegas chef John Courtney, will join hosts Danny Lee and Jonah Kim in the kitchen.
The menu will include things like pig’s head terrine with gochujang and celery root daikon slaw; crispy spiced chicken feet with nori crema; bulgogi ravioli with scallions and sesame seeds; and shrimp and grits consisting of a ponzu-poached shrimp cocktail with rice porridge. Dishes are $6 each or three for $15.
Bourbon‘s James Woods will prepare cocktails, including a bourbon bubble tea. You’ll also find bottles of Anju’s signature cucumber-infused soju and makkoli, unfiltered rice wine served in bowls.
The festivities begin at 10 p.m., and the restaurant will close at 7:30 p.m. to prepare. Those who get in line early will get a special treat. UPDATE: That special treat, which will rotate month to month, will be kimchi-bacon deviled eggs given out by a server in a panda costume.
