Coppi’s Organic Restaurant closed its U Street NW location of nearly 20 years in July 2012 amid construction for the Louis at 14th development. Now, owner Carlos Amaya has found a new home in Cleveland Park. Coppi’s opened in the former Lavandou space over the weekend.
Inspired by the seaside Ligurian Riviera region of northern Italy, the menu includes dishes like monkfish with red pepper pesto and roasted Jerusalem artichokes as well as housemade pastas like butternut squash-stuffed ravioli with a butter, red grape, and sage sauce. The restaurant also has a wood-burning oven to cook pizzas as well as various vegetable, meat, and seafood dishes.
The drink menu showcases biodynamic and organic wines and seasonally inspired cocktails. Stay tuned for cooking classes and educational spirit and wine tastings.
