One of 14th Street NW’s few bastions of mega-chain fast food, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, has returned to the neighborhood.

Located at 1315 14th St. NW for more than 30 years, the fried chicken hub closed last July to make way for new retail and office space from Douglas Development. The restaurant reopened this week just across the street at 1322 14th St. NW, right below Pole Pressure. The new digs look to be a major upgrade that’s aesthetically more in line with a neighborhood where you can now get cocktails in a French press.

Still, you’ll be happy to know you can get three chicken tenders, two sides, and a biscuit for only $5. That’s, like, an eighth of the cost of a French press cocktail!

Popeyes opens daily at 10 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 p.m. Sunday.
