Love it or hate it, Restaurant Week is here again.
You know the drill: More than 250 restaurants across the D.C.-area will offer at least three courses for $22 at lunch or $35 at dinner now through Aug. 23. Newbies this go around include Centrolina, China Chilcano, and Fig & Olive. More veteran restaurants like BlackSalt, Bombay Club, and Old Ebbitt Grill are also offering deals. Find a full list of participating restaurants at ramw.org/restaurantweek.
The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, which sponsors the promotion, is giving away prizes for reservation-makers, including a weekend getaway to New York and tickets to Washington City Paper events. More details available here.
Curious what goes on behind the scenes during Restaurant Week? Y&H took a look last year.
Find the case for Restaurant Week here, courtesy chef and restaurateur Geoff Tracy of Chef Geoff’s.
And the case against it here from Cashion’s Eat Place and Pop’s SeaBar co-owner Justin Abad.
Also, make sure you do some menu math this week. Y&H has found in years past, that the deal can sometimes be a rip-off.
