Stop by 2Amys for a Neapolitan pizza and a Papa Francesco cocktail. The drink, a regular on the menu, is made with Glenlivet scotch, Capitaline vermouth (a collaboration between 2Amy’s sister restaurant Etto and New Columbia Distillers), and Del Professore vermouth. It’s finished with homemade orange bitters and some boozy, brandy cherries.

Brookland Pint’s exclusive brew from Franklin’s Brewpub, No Sleep ‘til Brookland, will be renamed No Pope, ‘til Brookland in honor of Francis’ visit. The beer-focused bar is also offering a religious-themed beer menu. Featured drafts will include Avery Hog Heaven and Founders Blushing Monk.
Ella’s Wood Fired Pizza
610 9th St. NW
A special Pope’s Pizza will be offered from Sept. 21 to the 26. The 10-inch pizza costs $15 and features fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and yellow tomatoes marinated in olive oil, garlic, and basil. Diners can add a Moretti beer for an extra $5. A 7-inch version will be offered for $6 during happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Embassy Row Hotel
2015 Massachusetts Ave. NW
The Rooftop bar will host a pope-themed party on Sept. 22 beginning at 4 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include a glass of Malbec and some of the pope’s favorite snacks like cheeses, breads, meats, and empanadas. There will also be a live DJ. All proceeds will benefit So Others Might Eat.

The ribeye steak and provolone cheese Pontiff grilled cheese sandwich, inspired by Pope Francis’ Argentinian background, will be served on ciabatta with a chimichurris sauce. It will be available for $10 during lunch hours, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, or for $14 with a side dish during evening hours. There will also be an Argentinian Malbec wine on special for $12 a glass or $45 a bottle.

The posh Hay-Adams hotel is featuring two special cocktails for the pope’s visit. The Holy Grail is made with gin, Benedictine, lemon, and olive oil. The Castro Novo is made with Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine, Hennessy VSOP, Amontillado sherry, and fresh orange juice.
1900 M St. NW
Rumors is going bold and naming its special offering the Pope’s Favorite Sandwich. It’s made with chimichurri-marinated chicken breast, provolone, and a relish of tomato, onion, cucumber, shallots, parsley, and garlic. It’s then topped with lemon and arugula and served on ciabatta bread.

This Italian restaurant will offer a special tasting menu from Sept. 21 through the 26. The three-course, Roman-inspired menu costs $29.99 a person with wine pairings running an additional $25.
