Limited tickets are still available for Thursday night’s Bacon & Bourbon: A Whiskey Festival at Eastern Market. Admission includes unlimited tasting of more than 30 top whiskeys from around the world, bacon dishes from local restaurants, and a souvenir glass.
For VIP ticket holders, though, there are a few extra treats, including some amazing rarities:
- Pappy Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year
- WhistlePig Old World Madeira Single Finish
- WhistlePig Old World Tokaji Single Experimental Finish
- WhistlePig Boss Hog Single Barrel 13 Year
This is a sampling of whiskeys only a handful of people have tried before. The Madeira is no longer in production. The Tokaji has never been released to the public. And the Boss Hog is an ultra premium whiskey only released every few years.
Dishes in the VIP room, sponsored by Del Frisco’s Grille and Whistle Pig, include maple and bourbon Cajun bacon-wrapped oysters (Angels on Horseback); bacon-bourbon cupcakes with candied-pork chips; and Toulouse-style cassoulet with pork osso buco as the centerpiece.

VIP ticket holders also get an extra hour of tasting from 6 to 7 p.m. VIP tickets are $120 and general tickets are $80. Use promo code WHISKEY10 for $10 off.
