There will soon be a new place to find D.C.-made chocolates, vinegars, beers, and more in Shaw. Glen’s Garden Market, which sources nearly everything within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, will open its second location at 1924 8th St. NW at noon on Saturday.
The new location is less than half the size of its Dupont counterpart, but its beer garden will be twice as big. The outdoor space is getting an awning and will have heaters, fans, and lights so it can be used year-round. Pints of local beers will continue to be $4 at all times.
The main differences between the locations are that there’s no room for a pizza oven or full-service coffee in Shaw. All the grocery products and beer and wine selection will remain the same. “They’re just stacked a little higher and a little tighter,” owner Danielle Vogel says. “You walk in and it’s just jammed with the bounty of the region.”
