Officer Sean Hickman, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department, said shortly after 4 p.m. that officers arrived on the scene of a “large group fight” near the intersection of 14th and Irving streets NW. He added that MPD had “drawn numbers” for an alleged assault on one officer, but could not say how many suspects are being charged.
On Twitter, people described the incident as “a massive high school fight” and “some kind of scuffle” involving youth.
