After another year of uncertainty, the Fort Reno summer concert series is officially happening this year, and the schedule has finally arrived. The decades-long annual summer concert series kicks off this Thursday with Title Tracks, Bad Moves, and Strange Avenger, and continues every Monday and Thursday until August 4.
In early May, the legendary Government Issue frontman John Stabb died—a big loss for the local music community. This year’s series will be dedicated to Stabb Fort Reno organizer Amanda MacKaye writes on its website: “This summer we mourn the passing and celebrate the life and work of John Stabb. Mina, John’s wife has generously asked that people wishing to continue to honor him make their donations in his memory to Fort Reno.” The July 11 show with Dot Dash, The Delarcos, and Nine to Five will be a birthday remembrance for Stabb, who would’ve turned 55, with a “Night of 1,000 Cakes” celebration.
