Music has always spoken words that sometimes our own mouths could not utter. As the world protests the ongoing injustices against Black people, we need some healing. So, I have curated a playlist that focuses on this moment in time while simultaneously celebrating the beauty of Blackness and showcasing talented local artists.

When finding the songs for this, I focused on the message behind the music and how the songs made me feel. As a Black woman, I wanted to create a playlist that made me feel seen, and that would give others that same feeling. I want people’s emotions to run high when listening, and for them to understand that Black people are Black every day, and we will celebrate that every day, no matter what.
