Get to know D.C. with our daily newsletter

We dive deep on the day’s biggest story and share links to everything you need to know.

We accept jpgs, gifs, and standard Flash ads.

File Size

  • The maximum file size is 39K (39936 bytes) for all ad types.

Ad Dimensions

Ad space is available in the following dimensions:

  • Leaderboard (728×90 pixels)
  • Wide Skyscraper (160×600 pixels)
  • Medium Rectangle (300×250 pixels)

Animation

Ads should loop no more than 3 times, and stop after 15 seconds.

Flash

Your Flash ad must meet these requirements or it will be returned to you.

  • Size and Dimensions: The same as above.
  • Flash version: All Flash ads must use versions 5-8.
  • ClickTag: Camera-ready ads must use the clickTag variable so that we can track clicks. The proper code looks like this:
on (release) {
if (clickTag.substr(0,5) == "http:") {
getURL(_level0.clickTag, "_blank");
}
}

Note: Your actual destination URL will not be in the.swf file itself.

  • External Calls: Additional components, such as video, should be hosted by you, and the correct paths should be in place in all coding.
  • Expansion: Our ad slots are iframes, so your ad must be able to expand out of the frame to be visible.
