Thanks to everyone who came out to our latest Nosh Mob at Piola in Rosslyn. It was a terrific success. Owner Nabil Achi welcomed us to the swanky eatery and delivered a fascinating history of the Italian-based eatery.
As Raters noshed on bruschetta, bartender Christopher Lau muddled up a fabulous caipirinha, an 80-proof drink using Brazilian sugarcane-based Cachaca Rhum.
Then chef Sean Mooney demonstrated Piola’s homemade gnocchi, as well as several examples of its signature thin-crust pizzas from the 60-plus selection. For desert, Sean crafted the delicious Coppa Piola, made of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and “farofa dolce,” all served on a cookie.
And congratulations to Rater Craig Moran, who won a $200 meal at Piola. We’ll have another Nosh Mob soon, and remember that every time you rate, you are entered into a drawing for a free meal at the restaurant of your choice.
Bon appétit!
