In last week’s Dept. of Media column, Erik Wemple mistakenly reported that Washington Post Ombudsman Deborah Howell had erred in tallying the number of Post reporters working on the Virginia Tech shooting story. Howell wrote that 75 reporters were on the story within a few hours of its breaking. Howell’s figure relied on a counting of reporters credited in the paper as well as reporters awaiting assignments.

In a photo pick for Wristcutters: A Love Story (4/20), film critic Mark Jenkins stated that for filmmakers such as Wristcutters’, being named an indieWIRE Undiscovered Gem “marks the moment at which you realize that mainstream distribution is never going to happen.” Several media outlets reported in March that AfterDark Films/Lionsgate would release the film.
