“Our interest has always been in people who took country and made it their own,” explained Oakley Hall singer Pat Sullivan in Rolling Stone last year. With I’ll Follow You, Oakley Hall’s latest album, he should add his own band to that list. Through an evolution that drained the band from a boozy 10-piece to a more sober six-piece, the Brooklyn group may have kept one boot in the classic country camp, but their hearts are all over the map. I’ll Follow You shows the band drafting krautrock rhythms, sunburned harmonies, and shaggy psych guitar trills into its truckstop rock. Sullivan & Co., who released a pair of fine albums in 2006, also know how to deliver straight-up country beauties. The title track and “Angela” may one day end up on a Time-Life comp, a Rt. 1 jukebox, or both. Oakley Hall performs with Junior League at 9 p.m. at the Rock and Roll Hotel, 1353 H St. NE. $10.
