Performed on a set that includes 20 cardboard boxes, an 8-foot-high fence, and metal scraps, Dance Kumikokimoto’s Masao depicts the difficult life of a Korean immigrant in Japan during World War II. Choreographed by Korean-born New York City dancer and musician Kumiko Kimoto, Masao‘s elaborate production also includes video footage and original songs by the artist.
