While some of the melodies could be more imaginatively crafted and some of the tempos less repetitious, Superchunk‘s latest, Here’s Where the Strings Come In, brandishes enough anthemic punk to support an amiable live set. Cornershop‘s Hold On It Hurts is a tad uneven, but in its finest moments offers a bracing mix of the Fall’s noisy ramshackle charm and Guided by Voices’ tunefulness, flavored with traditional Indian instruments.
