Whatever happened to waiting until Thanksgiving? The first big Xmas fete of the season comes more than a month of shopping days before the big day. Don Dixon and Marti Jones, alternative pop’s aging, but less dysfunctional, Kurt and Courtney, play host to a something-old-something-new lineup that includes the rebounding Marshall Crenshaw and—bah, humbug!—avowed Dixonophile Darius Rucker (minus his dependent Blowfish). More bad news: NPR will air pre-recorded portions of the recital at a later date, hopefully after Turkey Day. At 8:30 p.m. at Georgetown University’s Gaston Hall, 37th & O Sts.
