A rare survivor of Hitler’s inner circle, architect Albert Speer was given credit for coming clean in his memoir, Inside the Third Reich. According to journalist Gitta Sereny’s Albert Speer: His Battle With Truth, however, Speer didn’t tell the whole truth, and despite an inner struggle never fully accepted the magnitude of the Nazis’ crimes. Sereny discusses her book, which is based on years of research and discussion with Speer himself, at 8 p.m. at the Museum of American History’s Carmichael Auditorium, 14th & Constitution Ave. NW. $13.
