There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.
He’s no Bobby Blue Bland, but longtime rhythm ‘n’ blues balladeer Billy Price specializes in the ’50s-era compositions associated with the likes of Bland, Percy Mayfield, and Little Willie John. The Pittsburgh-based Price first received attention as D.C. guitarist Roy Buchanan’s featured vocalist, and later with his own Keystone Rhythm Band. After a brief respite from the music biz, the blue-eyed soulster is back with a brand new band that performs tonight and tomorrow at 9 p.m. at Tornado Alley, 11319 Elkin St., Wheaton. $10.
