Reverend Horton Heat headlines tonight’s “Back to School Texas BBQ” show, but lesser-known Lone Star State rockers Hagfish (pictured) open with a sound as big, loud, and rude as the Reverend’s. …Rocks Your Lame Ass, the Dallas quartet’s major-label debut, offers solid punk-inspired tracks like “Happiness” and “Flat” along with the melodic thrashings of “Did You Notice.” Dallas’ aptly named Tripping Daisy and Heat’s Sub Pop labelmates (and the only non-Texans on the bill) Supersuckers round out the roster. This Seattle-by-way-of-Tucson band can be credited for bringing actress Linda Blair out of “where is she now?” status in the video for its “Born Without a Tail.” At 7 p.m. at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium, 730 21st St. NW. $17.50.
