Today Barbara J. Winter comes to town with her seminar “Making a Living Without a Job.” I tried this. I have wonderful memories of late, leisurely breakfasts and Tuesday afternoons spent napping in the park under azure skies. And, later, of beefy guys with subpoenas pounding at my door. Maybe if I’d taken Winter’s class, I’d have understood the concepts of “multiple income sources” and “self-bossing techniques” (No. 1: “Dave, you’re fired”). After all, in Bill Gates’ new world order, everyone’s on their own in wired, telecommuting info-pods. Or napping in the park. At 9:30 a.m. at First Class, 1726 20th St. NW. $29. For reservations call (202) 797-5102. (Dave Nuttycombe)
