Unlike a lot of musicians on California neopunk labels like Lookout and Epitaph, the members of Citizen Fish don’t wish they had been British ska-punks a decade or more ago. That’s because they were actually British ska-punks a decade or more ago, with bands like Subhumans and Culture Shock. The band’s skeptical politics, loping rhythms, and English accents are not an incredible simulation, but the real thing—and most of the songs on the Bath quartet’s new Millennia Madness are for real too. With Avail and Bender at 9:30 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $5. (202) 667-7960. (MJ)
