The Savoy-Doucet Cajun Band features the three musicians who are arguably most responsible for keeping traditional Louisiana sounds alive and relevant: guitarist, vocalist, and author Ann Savoy; accordionist and instrument-maker Marc Savoy; and Beausoleil fiddler Michael Doucet. Composers of original ballads and waltzes, and keepers of an encyclopedic knowledge of Cajun-music history, these personable musicians are worthy cultural spokespeople and dynamic performers as well. Tonight, beginners’ dance workshop at 8 p.m., music at 9 p.m. at Glen Echo Park’s Spanish Ballroom, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo; Sunday, dance workshop at 5 p.m., music at 6 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Park Clubhouse, 9800 Cherry Hill Rd., College Park. $10.
