Now on tour supporting its third release, Happy Days, Catherine Wheel has a reputation for live shows that betray lead singer Rob Dickinson’s blood relationship to erstwhile Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson. In previous concerts, such arena-rock flourishes have included transforming its own “Black Metallic” into a 20-minute anthem and pulling off a letter-perfect rendition of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.” Wax and Gwen Mars open at 8:45 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 930 F St. NW. $9.
