Dubbed the “Golden Voice of the Ghanaian Highlife” in the ’70s, the now-Toronto-based Pat Thomas continues to tour and record regularly. While Thomas’ synthesis of simple, picked guitar rhythms, state-of-the-art drum programming, and assertive high-pitched vocals is not as dominant in West Africa as it once was, it still retains its potency. With Theu Yaw Boakye at midnight at Annandale Boys’ Club Auditorium, 6200 Little River Tpk., Alexandria. $10-15. (301) 585-3695. (Steve Kiviat)
