The English Civil War raised some of the issues that would spark the American and French Revolutions more than a century later; it also tested what was then cutting-edge military practice. In commemoration of the 350th anniversary of the Battle of Naseby—a crucial English Civil War clash that will be re-enacted Sept. 9 and 10 in Staunton, Va.—the Cavalier’s College presents a lecture titled “Musket and Pike: 17th-Century Military Tactics and Technologies.” The talk, which will feature demonstrations of period and reconstructed armor and swords, is at 7 p.m. at 1029 N. Stuart St., Arlington. FREE. For reservations call (703) 841-5135. (Mark Jenkins)
