The D.C. government’s problematic relationship with reality is frequently codified in Washington Citifax, a PR primer put out by the mayor’s office of communication. The Aug. 10 edition starts off with a mini-profile of the director of the Department of Employment Services, Joe Yeldell. The biography notes that Yeldell “served as General Assistant to former Mayor Harold Washington.” Whoops! Perhaps the editors were referring to Walter Washington—former mayor of D.C.—and not Harold Washington—former mayor of Chicago.
