For American martial arts movie fans, the last five years have been painful ones. Chuck Norris all but hung up his belt; Jean-Claude Van Damme abandoned the gymnastics of Bloodsport for the ballistics of Time Cop; and Steven Seagal went enviro in On Deadly Ground. So instead of watching the same old dreary explosions in Under Siege 2, check out the Chinese National Kungfu Team. The 21-member troupe performs in half-a-dozen martial arts styles and fights with swords, staffs, and unnamed (but no doubt lethal) “traditional weapons.” At 7:30 p.m. at Lisner Auditorium, 730 21st St. NW. $12-$25.
