In 1991, Zairian soukous ensemble Wenge Musica split into two factions, each of which incorporated the band’s name into its new moniker. Wenge Musica Aile Paris produces a Franco-Zairian dance-club variant of the original combo’s hypnotic, guitar-based rhythmic style. Wenge Musica B.C.B.G. (Bon Chic, Bon Genre), still based in Zaire, offers a more varied mix that resembles the euphonic grooves on 1988’s striking Bouger Bouger (Mulolo), the recently reissued debut effort of the original Wenge Musica. At 11 p.m. at the International Mall, 1401 University Blvd. East, Langley Park. $20-25. (301) 422-4000. (Steve Kiviat)
