Sure, the roasted rabbit loin melts in one’s mouth, but the best thing about Red Sage is the way its $5-million interior-design job pays unwitting homage to those cheesy western-themed steakhouses with wagon-wheel chandeliers. A $128.33 tab for two seems like a bargain when you both get to feel like upscale extras on the set of Bonanza. A better deal still is today’s National Building Museum Site Seeing Tour of the famed eatery, led by restaurant manager Will Cavenaugh and focusing on the costly, surreal decor; revel in the ersatz-ness of it all starting at 2 p.m., but meet at the National Building Museum, 4th & F Sts. NW. $7. For reservations call (202) 272-2448. (Bill Gifford)
