Admittedly, “Rock on, Randy, one time for Ringo” doesn’t have quite the proper ring to it, but the annual gathering of Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band is beginning to answer the question, “Will we still love them when they’re 64?” How can we not? The wattage is a bit lower this year, but the lineup is just strange enough to compensate. Imagine the medley possibilities: Taking care of guitar business is Randy Bachman, along with Grand Funk Railroad’s old captain, Mark Farner; Billy Preston going around in circles on keyboards, with Felix Cavaliere also groovin’ on the 88s; John Entwistle offering spidery bass lines; and assisting dad on the Ludwigs is Zak Starkey.
