Wryly titled Fight Songs, The For Carnation‘s debut EP is no declaration of war; its two full-blown songs, “Grace Beneath the Pines” and “Get and Stay Get March,” are about as slow and quiet as rock can get, although they’re linked by a brief instrumental that’s almost rollicking. The quartet, which includes members of Slint, Tortoise, and 11th Dream Day, follows Chisel at 8:45 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 930 F St. NW. $8. (202) 393-0930. (MJ)
