What was once dubbed “dinosaur rock” is now considered “progressive.” Take the British group Hawkwind, which was sci-fi before the Orb, ambient before Eno, and dissonantly droning before Loop. The band has had more lineup changes than the Baltimore Orioles in its 26-year history, and is now fronted by longtime member Nik Turner, who continues the group’s extended forays into acidelica. With Simon House’s Spiral Realm at 9 p.m. at the Bayou, 3135 K St. NW. $10. (202) 333-2897. (Christopher Porter)
