Late-20th-century America can still be as intolerant as the Massachusetts Bay colony: Take the case of the persecuted Church of Iron Oak, presently suing for its right to hold Wiccan worship services in Palm Bay, Fla. Local witches, druids, mystic Christians, shamans, and other pagans from the Washington and Baltimore area are sponsoring a Coalition for Pagan Religious Rights Fundraiser to help the church’s efforts. The event features a rummage sale, local pagan vendors, workshops, tarot card and rune readings, and musical performances by Bloodroot, Kiva, Artemis, and Big Village. From 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Christ Congregational Church, 9525 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring. $10. (301) 604-6049. (Eddie Dean)
