JULY 8

Few voices possess more healing power than Barry White’s. His profoundly soothing basso has brought countless couples together and helped make peace between warring nations; in an episode of The Simpsons, it even worked a minor miracle by seducing the snakes that had overrun Springfield. The maestro of romance says his songs celebrate love rather than mere sex, but his music has probably done as much to populate the earth as the last several missives from the Pope. Last year, White returned to the pop charts with the platinum-selling The Icon Is Love. Chanté Moore opens for White and his Love Unlimited Orchestra at 8 p.m. at the Nissan Pavilion at Stone Ridge, 7800 Cellar Door Dr., Manassas. $19.75-39.75. (Eddie Dean)
