Though no longer a positive punk, Lida Husik is psychedelically sanguine on her recent (and aptly named) Joyride, which mates British ambient trippiness with the homemade rock of a band that includes Washington City Paper photographer Charles Steck. Though many of its songs were recorded as demos, Joyride is positively lush compared to Songs of You & Me, the rough but charming new album from sometime Tall Dwarf Chris Knox, who opens at 9:15 p.m. at the Black Cat, 1831 14th St. NW. $5.
