You want variety? On its three-song tape, Raised by Wolves does bouncy power-pop (“Video Girl”), bouncier sort-of-zydeco (“Bring Your Tambourine”), and hard rock slathered in wah-wah (“The Saints Are Smiling”). This D.C. quartet, which will appear July 7 at Asylum in Exile, plays and writes confidently, but three tunes is insufficient for a diagnosis. Is the band just showing off its farthest-flung styles, or does its eclecticism actually border on the pathological? The tape is $2 from D. Stevenson, 1442 Harvard St. NW, Washington, DC 20009.
