More than 20 years since the Ramones first played CBGB’s, it’s still possible to make punk rock sound fresh, either by imbuing it with a distinctive personality or simply through sheer, uh, raw power. Clearly taking that Stooges album as their cue, the New Bomb Turks do the latter. There’s nothing novel on the Columbus, Ohio, quartet’s Information Highway Revisited, but the energy level is galvanizingly up-to-date.
