At its worst, Bloodlines, the debut from Michael Hill’s Blues Mob, is generic bar-band blues-rock. At its best, the group’s debut contemporizes the blues without sacrificing the genre’s essential spirit. Bloodlines‘ nontraditional flourishes include topical lyrics; biting, Vernon Reid-style axework; and dashes of funk and reggae. At 9 p.m. at Fleetwood’s, 44 Canal Center Plaza, Alexandria. $9.50.
