Here’s another chance to see Jean-Luc Godard’s brilliant, exasperating Germany Year 90 Nine Zero and JLG by JLG, which had a fleeting commercial booking this spring. Though one tours the former border between East and West and the other its maker’s psyche, both of these one-hour films contemplate the end of things: art, cinema, the Cold War, the life and career of Jean-Luc Godard. If that sounds somber, it is, but only part of the time—though austere and non-narrative, both are quite funny in their way. At 8 p.m. at the Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden’s Ring Auditorium, 8th & Independence Ave. SW. FREE. (202) 357-2700. (MJ)
