IT’S ABOUT TIME SOMEone spoke out about NORML (“Reefer Madness,” The District Line, 5/26). NORML has been around 25 years, and we’re not any closer to a sane marijuana policy. In fact, pot arrests have gone up since NORML Director Dick Cowan has been at the helm.

As a NORML member, I’ve been wondering why the national headquarters is so lame. Your article helped me decide once and for all to stop contributing money to an organization that cares more about in-fighting than about actually changing laws.

NORML needs to either poop or get off the pot (no pun intended). If it’s the latter, maybe a real organization will finally move in to do the job.
